1. Booking and Preparing for Your Assessment
Refer to the letter or email that you received from the Registrar’s Office to find out the name of the assessment you need to complete. Using the chart below, book your assessment using the method indicated and download the related sample questions and related information.

2. On The Day of Your Assessment
- Arrive at your test centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for your assessment.
- Bring your Algonquin College Student Card or government-issued photo ID.
- Ensure that you have a method of payment. Cash, debit, or credit card are acceptable. Please note cheques are not accepted.
- You will be issued a receipt upon check-in and payment. Keep this receipt handy-you’ll need it and your photo ID when entering the test room.
- Put away all electronic devices. Phones should be turned off.
- Bring as few belongings into the test room as possible. We will provide you with everything that you need to complete your assessment.
Assessment Formats
Algonquin College primarily uses web-based assessment tools that are completed on a Test Centre notebook computer. These assessments are developed by two of the most highly regarded organizations in the area of academic skills assessment: The College Board – Accuplacer and the Psychological Services Bureau – HOAE.
