Family Care Leave (academic only)
This type of leave only applies to employees who are covered by the Academic Collective Agreement.
As per Article 21.07A of the Academic Collective Agreement, “in each year, the College shall grant to each employee up to five (5) days of leave to care for members of the employee’s immediate family when they are ill.” An immediate family member, for the purposes of this article, include the employee’s spouse, common-law spouse residing with the employee, dependent children (including children of legal or common-law spouse), and parents (including step-parents or foster parents).
These days will be deducted from the employee’s annual sick leave allotment.
