Peer Mentoring

The Peer Up for Success program matches transitioning students registered with the CSD with senior students (who also have a disability) to help facilitate the academic and social transition into college life. The goal of this program is to engage students with disabilities and provide them with a sense of community, encourage adjustments in learning and study habits, help students access existing support services and navigate through campus resources.

“I have gained more confidence in myself.” – Student response to the question, “What have you gained or learned through your Mentor relationship?”

“I’ve made a friend that has eased me into college life. We’ve learned a lot from each other.” – Student response to the question, “What have you gained or learned through your Mentor relationship?”

“Knowing what his disability is and all that he has overcome, it makes me realize that lots of other students have disability issues. They are dealing with them and doing well. It makes my problems seem not so big.” – Student speaking about his Mentor.
