Peer Tutoring

The Student Tutoring Service matches registered students who are having academic difficulties with trained students for one-to-one tutoring. If a match is available, sessions may start within as little as 48 hours after matching. Each hour of tutoring costs the student $5; students with severe financial hardship can apply to the Peer Tutoring Centre for help in covering costs.

For the Woodroffe Campus:

Want to be a tutor? Tutors are paid $11 per hour. To qualify to be a tutor; you must:

  • Be a registered Algonquin Student
  • Have a minimum B grade in the course(s) you are tutoring and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in your program
  • Successfully complete our training program and other requirements
  • Have a reference from your Professor/Coordinator
